I have worked in Miniature for over 25 years. I was introduced to the miniature by artist Patricia Moy when I was exhibiting at Seasons Gallery in North Sydney. I began with experiments in mixed media collage, moved on to creating Paper Quilts and I am now interested in creating miniatures using ink and coloured pencils.
The definition of a miniature is a work with an area of no more than 100cm square. The subject must adhere to the spirit of miniaturization rather than being just a small picture. The techniques used must also be delicate such as small brush strokes or marking makings.
I have been a member of the Australian Society of Miniature Art (NSW) since 1993. This society has group exhibitions at private and regional galleries and an annual awards exhibition held in Sydney. I was the newsletter editor of the Australian Society of Miniature Art (NSW) from 1996-7 to 1999. I am also a member of AIM – Art in Miniature. This is the group for miniature artists who create in the Canberra Region. please see website

Dear Rosie, what a beautiful message – thank you so much. It has always been my aim to make pictures that make people smile and bring some joy. I do love what I do and know that I am very fortunate to be able to work away on my pictures in my studio. Thanks so much for buying my cards. I love thinking that they are in Coogee – my Dad grew up there many years ago. Many kind regards Michaela
